Our cottage is best suited for adults, our rates are based on a 3 person occupancy, with a maximum 4 persons.   If we permit the additional person, by exception, an additional fee will be charged. 

Children - please ask. This property is quite steep, as seen in the photo gallery. Pets are not permitted. Smoking is not permitted in the cottage nor anywhere on the property.  Anyone with serious physical disabilities or medical conditions might be compromised by the stairs to the lower level of the cabin, the spiral staircase to the sleeping loft and perhaps by the stairs to the dock. Please ask in advance if you have any concerns. We are happy to answer any questions about our cottage or property but determining the suitability of the property and cottage for your party is your responsibility. Many photos are available in the 2 different photo gallery sections of the web site and we are happy to send you more on request.

The summer months, May through August and often September, are very warm and dry and thus strict fire precautions are ususally in effect.

A starter supply of drinking water is provided and when this has been used, the large plastic bottles can be refilled at the shopping centre on North Pender Island, a few kilometers away.

There is a undercounter size fridge in the cabin and a chest style freezer in the lower level. This is a rural, island cottage, not a condo or hotel room and although it is equipped with all the basic comforts, there are a few things that will be different such as the need to deal with garbage and recycling appropriately and the need to carefully follow fire precautions.

Pender Island has a gas station, cash machines, gift stores, several grocery stores, a bakery, a few good to excellent restaurants, a hardware store, pharmacy, art galleries, etc.  Our location is ideal and nearly all amenties are within 4 or 5 kilometers from the cottage. 

The cottage is the only house on the property. You, and the members of your party, are the only ones on the property when you rent it.  The main floor of the cottage is approximately 600 square feet. The sleeping loft is an additional 120 square feet and the lower level of the cabin is another 600 square feet. The sleeping loft and the lower level each have a queen size bed.  Stairs to the lower level are open.  The floor plan is open. There is only one bathroom.  It has a high tech composting toilet, a large shower room overlooking the sea and a sink.  There are two large decks, one off the lower level and one off the main floor level. Both decks are open to the garden at one end and closed at the other end. There is a wonderful, double-ended soaker tub on the lower deck. Couples or other parties of 2 may elect to use only the main level, the sleeping loft and the decks in which case they should ask for a discount during peak season. When this discount is granted, the lower level will be locked but no one else, other than the booked guests will  be staying.  The  cottage and all 3.5 acres are there for your comfort and privacy. 

The lower level bedroom may not included in the rental during the autumn, winter and early spring, but again it will not be occupied and you will still be able access and use the lower level deck and the antique double ended tub.  When we do include the include the lower level bedroom during these time periods, it is by exception and extra fees will apply.  Our cottage is considerably larger than the typical cottage in the Gulf Islands.  The sleeping loft is very comfortable and has a very comfortable queen bed. There is lawn space and an extra sofa on the lower level.
